Sulfur Spill in Bakersfield

On Feb. 22, 2010, Bakersfield Fire Dept. responded to a reported hazrdous condition, yellow powder in roadway at 23rd & C Sts. Upon arrival, Company 1 noted a 50 pound bag of sulfur fertilizer, broken open with 3 lbs of product in the gutter. Haz-Mat crews removed the sulfur from the roadway, mitigating the hazard, and transported the fertilizer for disposal. (BFD incident # 1203997).
