Description

On the south side of Tule Road, between Famoso Rd and Woody Rd, several miles east of Hwy 65, there are three stinking and connected and unlined pits containing waste water mixed with lots of oil. This oily waste water runs down a gully for several miles before soaking into the ground. In a storm event, this gully leads directly to Poso Creek and some of this waste water would end up in that creek. Poso Creek supplies fresh groundwater for thousands of acres of farmland to the west plus the towns of Wasco and McFarland. A complaint has also been submitted to Cal EPA about these pits and the dumping of waste water into this gully.
