Description
Oil field waste water is being dumped into open, unlined, and uncovered ponds. Close to a million gallons are being dumped daily in this single location. The smell is horrendous. The contribution to Kern air pollution levels must be significant. The ground slopes towards a hazardous waste dump, the California Aqueduct and prime farmland. It is assumed the water percolating into the ground from these ponds is moving underground in the direction of these other nearby places and ultimately will damage or pollute them.
